Pool Construction

Don’t you want to take a dip into a pool of water every time you think of or experience the hot burning weather? Do you have pool construction on your mind? Weather like Orange County’s warm Mediterranean climate makes one want to sunbath and remain in the pool perennially; therefore pool constructions are easily found in the wide spaces of the Orange County cities of Laguna Hills, Villa Park and Corona Del Mar.

A pool construction needs a proper planning and permission in place. A variety of options in terms of size, shape, color, and material are available for the gratification of a customer. It is very important to look for a trustworthy license holder because your dream pool depends on that one man. Here are a few quickies to aid you in the blistering weather.

The first thing to be decided for pool construction is the kind of basin you want, whether it has to be above-ground, fiberglass, vinyl-lined-in ground, gunite, poured-concrete, etc. The easiest of them is the above-the-ground pool that can be installed even by an amateur, though most of the people prefer contractors for such tasks. Its easy making also makes it easy to disassemble but less attractive and durable from the other kinds.

A fiberglass pool is made of fiberglass-reinforced plastic. The site for the pool construction is excavated and the necessary plumbing and sand-fillers are put into place. The pre-reformed pool is then put into the excavated space. Then the final touches to the pool are given by leveling and filling it. The area around such a pool is generally defined by a concrete deck structure.

Vinyl-lined-in-ground pools are a little similar to above-ground pools, in structure, not in looks, though. A wooden, plastic or metal wall is built on the perimeter of the dug hole and a vinyl lining is laid along the wall of the structure. They have less durability but are also cheaper than other in-ground pools.

Gunite pools are the most in demand type of pools, especially in the Orange County. They are made by spraying a dry mixture of sand and cement under pressure over steel reinforced rods. Shotcrete pools are made in the same way, the difference being the spraying done with a wet mixture instead of a dry one. It is left to settle down for a week or so and then the interior is smoothened using options like plaster, paint, tiles, etc.

The next step after the pool is built is to have a proper pool drain system in place, which will ensure the flow of clean water and increase the longevity of the pool. Also, a fancy deck can add charm to the pool and give you a holiday feel. A pool in your backyard can add to the value of your house while providing you with the luxury of feeling relaxed and at vacation always. A swim in your own pool at the end of a tired day in the lap of nature can surely do wonders to your senses.

4 Common Home Renovation Mistakes you should avoid!

Home Renovations can be exciting and fun if done right. But if done wrong it can be a nightmare and stressful and lets be honest who needs more stress in their already busy life! Your Home is your safe heaven so taking that step to make improvements to shoudn’t be torture.

The Ottawa Home Renovator takes pride in their work. We want to make our clients happy not only during the time they are working directly with us but for years to come. So we take the time to do things right and with care.

We want to make sure we do this right with you, so here are some common mistakes people make when doing Home Renovations:

  1. Picking just any Renovation Company – Take the time to review the company that will do your Home Renovations. Remember your home is one of your biggest investments don’t just hand it over to just anyone. Find a reputable company, review their website, check their previous work, ask for references, and find out if they have liability insurance.
  2. Doing too much at once – If you are looking to re-do your Kitchen and Bathrooms. Take the time to plan it out with your Contractor. Do on project at a time get it to completion and then start the next one.
  3. Budget – Be realistic about your budget. If you are re-doing your Kitchen you can look at upwards of $20,000.00 and more. Get the right quotes and then add about 20% more on that for unforeseen issues. You could have mould in your walls that need to be addressed. Also, don’t penny pinch? Not on the materials (but always look for a deal, your Renovator can help you with good quality materials) most definitely do not penny pinch on the Renovator. You do not want to hire Joe Blow because he said he can do it for $10,000 and then you end up with a finished project that looks like $5,000 and decreases the value of your home.
  4. Changing your Mind constantly – If your project has started and you are constantly changing your mind this can add to your final bill. Most companies have it built into their contract that any changes will require additional cost since they now have to re-do the contract. So make sure you find a good Renovations company that takes the time to sit with you in the beginning and really understand and draw up what you are looking to achieve in your home Renovations.
